Now what exactly is “M.O.M.S.”?
It’s a fancy acronym for “Moms Offering Moms Support”. It’s a morning out for moms mostly, but it is also for caregivers too. We want you to take a break from the hectic life you lead and take time to have some fun, without the kids it’s only for a morning, but we figure that it’s worth getting out of the home for!
What do we do each week?
For the M.O.M.S. mornings, Moms will spend time together encouraging each other and socializing to connect with other Moms in the community. We do plan to include some special mornings every month, but it will be on a casual basis.
Where do we meet?
We meet each Monday around 9:30am at Queensway Baptist Church.
Why do we do this?
Because Moms and caregivers need a break and some fun too! We meet together as a group. Moms and caregivers will get a great opportunity to connect with others in the community.
What if you don’t want to be around others at first? What if you need just a cup of coffee or tea and a snack plus a comfy spot to sit down and relax?
Well there is a great spot near the fireplace where you can sit and relax. And of course when you are ready, please join in!
Did we say free coffee, tea and snacks?
Some for kids too?
Who watches the little ones?
Well we have nursery volunteers to keep your little ones comforted. For the older kids who are 2 and up, we have a volunteer who will keep them busy and having fun downstairs. And if they don’t want to go at first, it’s okay to keep them with you for awhile. There is a small donation requested if you are able to contribute each week. It helps keep the costs down.
So we hope to see you out at M.O.M.S. soon. We know it takes a lot of effort to get out of the house but we think it’s worth it. Have a great time.
